Scaffolding and Masonry Repair

Restauration de maçonnerie
Strategic Masonry Reconstruction

Following the initial deconstruction carried out by our clients and partners at Tomico, our team of masons rebuilt the walls by reinstalling the bricks and replacing several lintels. The goal was twofold: to restore the original look of the façade while ensuring the long-term durability of the building envelope.

Installation of Two Hydraulic Platforms Using a Crane

Two hydraulic platforms were installed on the underground parking slab, requiring precise load calculations. Certain areas had to be shored up without blocking residents’ parking access. Transporting materials to different zones of the site posed a real logistical challenge. A significant amount of shoring equipment was required to safely redistribute the loads to the building structure.

Design and Installation of Freestanding Scaffolding Systems

Most of the scaffolding had to be designed as freestanding since many of the building’s walls could not be used as anchor points. Our team developed and installed a system that was both sturdy and efficient, using rosette-type scaffolding equipped with working decks, guardrails, and a temporary staircase. Each façade required a tailored solution due to the building’s unique geometry and restricted access. Our masons also employed suspended scaffolding on certain façades.

An Innovative Approach

Thanks to carefully planned phasing, the work had no impact on building or shared-space accessibility. The work was carried out in several phases over the course of three years, each one optimized based on lessons learned from the previous. The scaffolding from phase one was kept in place to serve phase two, reducing mobilization costs. During the second phase, 21-foot beams were used to lighten the load on the parking slab. Every technical decision was made to control costs without ever compromising safety or quality.

A Rewarding Project

This type of complex and unusual work speaks directly to our strengths. It is what we do best.
