Our masons meticulously dismantled and rebuilt the limestone wall with exceptional precision. Each stone was numbered, mapped, and thoroughly inspected before being either restored or replaced, depending on its condition.

The new stones used for this project were expertly cut by our colleagues at Ducharme, our specialized processing, sawing, and finishing center. Some elements, like the flower on the portico, were hand-carved, while others, such as the rubble stones at the openings, were shaped directly on-site by our masons.

Many stones were restored using specialized restoration mortar, carefully selected to preserve the authentic character of the original masonry. Our experts also performed Dutchman repairs, a technique that maintains the building’s historical integrity.

Our masons installed black granite facing, a material renowned for its exceptional durability and timeless elegance. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, it provides natural thermal and acoustic insulation, making it the perfect choice for this building in the heart of downtown Montreal.
