Restoration of the stone walls
Our team of masons created a Scotch masonry facing using 165 uniquely sized stones, meticulously determined by our experts. A custom template was designed to achieve a perfect match, meeting both the aesthetic and technical specifications of the project. In addition to enhancing the appearance, this installation reinforced and protected the concrete retaining wall, extending its durability.
Before demolishing the rubble stone wall, our team took precise reference points to ensure the reconstruction would match the original dimensions and verticality. The wall was then carefully dismantled and rebuilt by our masons, ensuring that the neighbouring fresco remained intact.
Our bricklayers constructed the exposed aggregate concrete cap. Since the wall is built on a slope, this required exceptional precision to align with the various angles and inclines.
Given the limited space on-site, our team strategically planned progressive deliveries of stones in different sizes, ensuring real-time adaptation to project needs. Special care was also taken to preserve the historic fresco located nearby.
