The exterior stone walls of the property showed signs of deterioration. Our team of expert masons proceeded with the repointing of sections in need of an intervention. The repointing of masonry elements involves the removal of a part of the mortar that is between the stones or the brick and its replacement by high performance color matching mortar. Leaving deteriorated mortar in place can not only affect the look of the property, but also jeopardizes the durability of the masonry.
Firebox Reconstruction
The firebox restoration consisted in replacing the firebricks. Masonry heart fireplaces are very durable in the long run, when cared for and maintained by skilled professionals.
Chimney Cap Replacement
The chimney crown plays a vital role in the protection of a chimney. It is its primary defense against the elements. Its most important function is to seal off the top portion, helping the water to shed away from the chimney.
