Adapted Access System for the Geodesic Dome

We designed and implemented a rosette scaffolding system adapted to the unique spherical structure of the biosphere. Modular and freestanding, this type of scaffolding allows precise access to work areas while ensuring stability and safety throughout the operations.

A custom suspension system was implemented using beam clamps to support steel reinforcements installed beneath the original slab. Our team also operated a lifting winch to raise and lower each steel beam individually from the slab to the scaffolding platform.

Due to the complexity of the site, the scaffolding was enclosed with a reinforced protective sheeting. This added layer of protection reduced the risk of falling debris, clearly marked the work area, and enhanced overall site aesthetics. It also ensured compliance with safety regulations while providing effective weather protection for workers.

Our client, Couverture St-Léonard, required unique and specialized access to carry out their work inside the spherical structure. Our design team developed fully customized scaffolding plans to meet these exceptional requirements. This project showcases our ability to merge technical precision with innovative problem-solving to meet the unique needs of our clients.
